Every Day Another Chance

How sad is it to face the consequence of a decision or action because you did not know? that means if you had known you probably won’t have made that / those decisions or acted in that way. According to Law, “Ignorance of the law excuses no man. Not that all men know the law, but because it’s an excuse every man will plead, and no man can tell how to refute him."  Crime is what it is whether aware or not. The bible says that we are destroyed for the lack of knowledge, (Hosea 4:6). This means that we fail, don’t fill fulfilled, get things wrong because we don’t have the amount of knowledge that we require to live and make certain decisions. (Matthew 22:29) says that “You are in error because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.”

It’s just like a child who lives in poverty and hardship not knowing that his father before he died had enormous wealth to last him a life time and all he needed to do was to do the will of his father; read the pages of the book left for him, but thanks to procrastination, laziness, and been preoccupied, he is not living as he should. Who is to blame?

As sad as it seems, it’s true nonetheless! We suffer or feel that we are not where we are supposed to be because we are not utilising the power we possess along side what God has given to us (our gifts and talents), yet we wonder why the so called “evil people” are? The truth is that they do succeed because they follow the code given; they understand it and are aware of the consequences if they do otherwise.

The devil is a very tactical being with so much discipline and determination. So if you are ignorant of his devices, then failure is apparent. As disciplined as the devil is, so are his followers, hence if it is necessary to gain knowledge of something to exert their power, oh believe me! there is nothing that can stop them except God from achieving that which they seek.

Come to think of it, the devil has been in existence much longer than we have been and will ever live, so it is the quality of our relationship with God, the persistent knowledge and living of his word, backed up with our faith in the power of God that puts us way above the devil. In essence, you without God are under the feet of the devil. So the next time, you pray and say "devil I bind you, I destroy you, you are under my feet" and so many of those types of prayers, get real and be sincere to yourself and ask yourself "what edge do I really have over the devil?" this is so that we don't make prayers and get no response and then begin to blame God, when in reality, we haven't done our part.

We do have a heritage in God; we should know that and begin to posses it with our spirit. I know that it can be very hard to devote that 30 minutes to 1 hour a day to study God’s word. But guess what, God knew it would, and that’s why he encouraged us not to let his word depart from our mouth, please look up (Psalm 1:1-6) and be encouraged.

Every day is another chance to make better decisions, build better relationships, develop our selves and make conscious effort to beat our lazy flesh and try and ask the Holy Spirit to help us, help us with the understanding and practise of the word of God.
