How Much L-O-V-E Do You Have To Spare?


We all have an idea of what we feel and believe love is and should be. No one is ignorant of it's impact, whether felt, given or expectant. Amongst the four main kinds of love (Agape, Phileo, Storge and Eros) that there is, i would be will be referring to the first three kinds of love mentioned above.



Love is kind
Love does not envy
Love is not puffed up
Love is not envious
Love does not seek it's own (not selfish)
Love is not provoked to violence
Love suffers long
Love thinks no evil
Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but in truth
Love bears all things
Love is a good friend
Love endures all things
Love never fails

How much love do you have to spare? Before answering the question, we have to understand that we have to love ourselves first before we can love someone else (we can't give what we dont have) and it is apparent that we all want the best things for ourselves.
 So out of all the self - love we have got, how much of it can we give out to other people not necessarily our family and friends. Showing love to the people who needs it, is what we are required to do at all times. Show a little kindness, show kindness to that little child in your neighbourhood who does not have food to eat, show kindness to that lady, that guy in your church, your congregation, your school, your work place who wears the same clothes almost all the time, show kindness to that begger you see at your bus stop on your way to an from work, decide in your mind to pay the transport fair of one person who you think needs that extra cash on the bus, visit those children at the down syndrome homes, everybody knows that one family that can't afford a three square meal, buy food stuffs, beverages and send to them (you don't have to know them), empty your wardrobe every quarter or every year of those clothes you no longer have use for. Compliment someone, about their beautiful dress, tie, shoe or the pleasant scent of their perfume.

God is Love, by showing kindness, giving arms and encouraging oursleves we only increase the love in circles. Refuse to love by mere words of mouth, and accept to love by your actions.

In case you don't know how much love you are required to spare, it is 50/50; "Love your neighbour as yourself" i think that is fair! Whatever you want for yourself, whatever you won't give yourself, whatever you won't think for yourself, dont do to someone else. The same measure of love you seek is the same measure you give.

Love is a wonderful thing...

How often do we take time to meditate on what Love is? The definition of love can not be overemphasized. It's deeper and broader, meaning it has no end. A world of Love is a world of endless possibilities. Love is the foundation of everything and there's no genuine foundation without it. In Love there is grace, wisdom, forgiveness, growth, health, wealth, peace of mind, just to mention a few. I'm glad I took time to read and meditate on it. An eye opener indeed just like a ray of light. Just as the Psalmist say in Psalm 36:9. Those Three Words

Do you notice how people are expected to say those three words as far as they are in a relationship whether they mean it or not? People just want to hear it, and hey! I am not just talking about the ladies based on popular notion , I am talking men too, even though some of them deny the existence of that subconscious craving. It is not out of the ordinary that we feel that we deserve to be loved. It probably makes us feel better, I feel it is unrealistic and shouldn't be compulsory but it sure is necessary. I love everything about love, I love to talk about love and I also believe in love. I believe that love is beautiful and I know that love isn't just a mere feeling but it's seen in our attitudes and the extent of our will.
